Describe the day you learned to fish & who taught you

I was lucky enough to be raised in a fishing family. My dad and my grandfather always had me fishing from the time that I could walk. Fishing has always been a big part of my life.

    Your proudest fishing accomplishment

Probably the best is the fact that I fish for a living. This is most fishermen’s dream and I’m living it. I always joke with my fishing buddies as I’m hooking the boat up by telling them that I’m going to work.

    Favorite fishing spot

This is tough since I’m an hour and fifteen minutes from both Clear Lake and the California Delta. These are two of the top fisheries in the country.

    Favorite fishing tactic/technique

Power fishing with jerkbaits, spinnerbaits and topwater.

What is the funniest fishing story you have experienced or witnessed

I was fishing a narrow slough on the California Delta. Dee Thomas was fishing about 100 yards down from me. Another angler decided he was going to wash out our banks. As he came around the corner and saw us, he trimmed his boat up and came flying up the slough going to pass within 30 feet of us. There was a big patch of floating hyacinth with a gigantic log in the middle of it hidden by the hyacinth. You guessed it. The boat hit the log, spinning him out. His unsportsmanlike actions turned out to be pretty funny but the best part was watching Dee Thomas laughing so hard that he fell off his butt seat and ended up laying on his back with his legs sticking straight up in the air. You could hear him howl for a quarter mile. You had to be there. It was really funny!
