Humminbird® Unveils Newly Designed Fishin’ Buddy™ Fishfinders

EUFAULA, Ala. (July 2007) – Humminbird® has redesigned the popular Fishin’ Buddy™ to deliver a high-tech portable fishfinder. The new line of Fishin’ Buddy fishfinders feature a new control head with ergonomic clamp mount design, 10-degree SideFinding™ transducer, and high-resolution monochrome and color screens.
“Our new Fishin’ Buddy models for 2008 provide anglers of all experience levels with the ultimate portable fishfinder,” Humminbird Product Manager Dale Logue said. “With the control head, transducer, and power supply (6-AA batteries) all integrated into one assembly, there is no guesswork about wiring or transducer rigging. And the convenient clamp mount design allows it to be used anywhere on the boat, as well as from a dock.”
Fishin’ Buddy’s portable design features a clamp-mounted control head with a 24-inch tube that houses the transducer at the bottom, allowing it to reach the water from most small to mid-sized fishing boats. Select models feature a telescopic tube that extends from 24 inches to 40 inches for boats with additional freeboard. All models come standard with a 34-degree 200kHz downlooking transducer, with select models featuring a SideFinding 10-degree 455kHz transducer. A convenient handle allows the angler to easily rotate the transducer to direct the SideFinding beam in the desired direction.
Additional features include a new swivel mount that allows the control head to be adjusted for easy viewing when the transducer is rotated for SideFinding. Selective Fish ID+™ shows fish in the down-looking beam as solid symbols, while fish located in the side beam are shown on a separate SideFinding window. And easy One-Touch™ control allows easy access to a full set of advanced features. Optional accessories (sold separately) include carrying case and float tube harness.
The Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Prices for the new Fishin’ Buddy models range from $119.99 to $269.99. New models available January 2008.
