What are the advantages of having the turn rate sensor integrated in the SC 110 autopilot?
SC 110 integrates heading information from the fluxgate compass and GPS with
the internal turn rate gyro to achieve very accurate course keeping while also efficiently
providing rudder corrections and steering guidance.
the SC 110 w/o FB has a distinct advantage for vessels not having the physical space or
a steering design that will accommodate the attachment of a physical rudder
feedback unit (RFU). The SCP 110 system
processor is fully capable of emulating a rudder feedback through the use of its
gyro stabilized, virtual RFU rather than
by using physical hardware.
Although not recommended for the steering at speeds
less than 3 knots, for most hull types, the virtual RFU will adequately
performs it job under almost all sea state conditions.
