The FB 30 rudder feedback used by the SC 110 incorporates a unique  brushless, transformer coupled construction. This design eliminates the primary cause of most RFU failures, which is the wear of the internal brush style contacts.  This design has many advantages but due to the internal construction differences, most other manufacturers rotary feedback units are not electrically compatible with the SC110 system.

Teleflex does make a 2.8 VDC linear feedback for outboard motor applications which is compatible with the Humminbird SC 110 autopilot. Hookup and installation is a simple process and configuration is via a single menu option set during the initial commissioning of the autopilot.
